OSH - OSPINA'S SPORT HORSES

Originally from South America the Ospinas have bred, trained and competed dressage/jumper/eventing prospects for over thirty years. Their father, Miguel Ospina, veteran of the classical German school and one of the pioneers of classical riding in South America, has transferred knowledge and solid discipline for horse training and horsemanship to his offspring.

Luis-Miguel with a degree in zoology and animal production has spent his whole life around sport horses. His main focus has been nutrition and reproduction and with over 20 years of practice; Luis-Miguel has developed a keen sense to breed the best in sport horses. After two decades in the business Luis-Miguel has developed a strong network across the most important breeders in the Americas and Europe. He could give an excellent advice to anyone considering to breed sport horses. Furthermore he trains and schools his own bred horses and works in team with local trainers to find the best matches for their students.

Marcela has been in front of the breeding program along with Luis Miguel. She owns and manages the horse farm in Monterey County California from where we breed, raise and initiate our youngsters. Marcela works daily with our prospects emphasizing their ground manners and social skills. Marcela has been a strong rider and on board her mare "Tayrona" (one of our broodmares) they have placed on many hunter/jumper shows.

Andres has been passionate about horses since his early years. At 7 years old, Andres built his confidence on the back of coddles working ponies. While in college, Andres rode for professional Grand-Prix stadium jumper riders and schooled young horses from ground up to 4 level hunter/jumpers. Later on his life, Andres worked as a barn manager where he gave lessons, trained horses for his students and schooled horses for sale. Currently, he is still schooling hunter/jumpers at local shows while introducing his two daughters to english riding.
